The Royal Shakespeare Company are currently transforming the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Swan Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon to create a dynamic space for performing and enjoying Shakespeare. The transformation project is due for completion in 2010. In the meantime, the RSC's main playhouse in Stratford-upon-Avon is The Courtyard Theatre. Indeed, The Courtyard Theatre's auditorium will be a template for the new Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
In 2009 RSC Artistic Director, Michael Boyd will be directing one of Shakespeare’s great comedies, As You Like It, whilst The Winter’s Tale will be directed by David Farr, a late Shakespeare play about jealousy, loss and redemption.
